DMC- Supplier of Environment-friendly Petrochemicals

As a member of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), DMC provides petrochemical technical products and services for test drilling, production and transportation of oil and gas. With its 20-year experience, DMC has to date expanded its major business areas to manufacturing chemicals for oil, gas and other industries; trading in chemicals and chemical products attached to logistics services and engineering solutions, distribution of petrochemical products; exploration, exploitation and processing of minerals; provision of drilling mud and well services, engineering services for better oil production efficiency; and provision of cleaning and environmental treatment services. All DMC’s operations meet international standards, proven by the certification of three international certificates: ISO9001: 2000 certificate for quality management system; ISO 14000 certificate for environmental management system; and OHSAS 18000 certificate for occupational health and safety management.

 

DMC’s operating scope has stretched out to all three regions of Vietnam and expanded to neighbouring Laos. The corporation now has five member companies, three branches and a joint venture company, staffed by a total of nearly 700 skilled, experienced employees. Particularly, the DMC - Hanoi Branch was set up to provide two new professional services: Cleaning services and environmental treatment services. The completely automated cleaning system, imported from the United States and manoeuvred by DMC engineers, helps clean tankers, FSO/FPSO, oil tanks, and industrial equipment. Under the development plan, the corporation will focus on developing following services: Processing input water for specialised industrial equipment, tap water, and industrial wastewater; processing solid waste, conducting environmental impact assessment, and providing environment-treating solutions and materials. DMC is actively collaborating with world-leading companies like Veolia (France) or Nalco (USA) to create a quality environmental processing service in Vietnam. In spite of being new, DMC has successfully completed SiO2 water processing systems for Dung Quat oil refinery and water treating systems for Northern Bio-fuel Production Factory.

 

In addition to focusing new service development, in 2010, DMC built a chemical base in Dung Quat with a total warehousing area of 5,400 square metres, capable of storing from 20,000 tonnes to 50,000 tonnes of chemicals in 9 - 12 months to ensure timely supply of chemicals to customers. Besides, DMC is carrying out a range of domestic and international projects like a petrochemical plant in Vung Tau City (scheduled for completion in late 2011); a barite exploration and exploitation project in Doan Hung (Phu Tho province); a CaCO3 exploitation project in Nghe An province and a barite exploration and exploitation project in Laos which are underway to stabilise raw material inputs for production and business activities. In particular, DMC is working with some partners to consider the possibility of building a petrochemical plant worth about US$300 million, which is expected bring in annual revenue of US$70 - 80 million. Since it went public, DMC has always been appreciated for its outperformance, rapid growth and stability. Particularly, DMC made revenue of VND2,120 billion and profit before tax of VND146 billion in the first 10 months of 2011, equal to 88.4 percent and 77 percent of its targets set for the whole year.
