PV GAS D Asserting Competency in Low Pressure Gas Supply

PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Joint Stock Company (PV GAS D), set up on May 23, 2007 as a subsidiary of the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Company - a unit of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), is specialised in trading and pipelining low pressure gas. PV Gas D continues expanding its market by diversifying products.
At present, PV Gas D is managing and operating the Phu My - My Xuan - Go Dau low pressure gas system supplying gas for 27 big users in this region. The company’s gas supply and incomes have increased year after year, totalling 136.5 million standard cubic metres (sm3) of gas and VND341.03 billion in 2007; 294.13 million sm3 of gas and VND893.34 billion in 2008; 317.15 million sm3 of gas and VND1,232.14 billion in 2009; and 460 million sm3 of gas and VND2,123.47 billion in 2010. In 2011, the company expects to supply 524.98 million sm3 of gas and earn VND3,165.19 billion.
 
The company has seen an annual average growth of 80 percent in the past year. PV Gas D not only supplies gas to existing customers but it also expands its pipeline systems to expand the market. PV Gas D plans to run the new facilities connected to Nhon Trach and Hiep Phuoc industrial zones in late 2011 and early 2012, then, the supply will be added some 96 million sm3 of gas a year.
 
In addition to business efforts, PV Gas D has expressed its high corporate social responsibility by building houses for those sacrificing for the national liberation, visiting and presenting gifts to wounded soldiers, Vietnamese heroic mothers, the poor, and poor studious children.
 
With its impressive results, PV Gas D has been awarded many certificates of merits like the Certificates of Merits from the PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) in 2007; Certificate of Merits from PV Gas in 2008; Certificates of Merits from PV Gas and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in 2009; Certificate of Merits from the Prime Minister and the "Prestigious Securities Brand" Award for typical listed companies in Vietnam in 2010.
 
PV Gas D strives to enhance its competitiveness as well as develop PetroVietnam brand on international markets, especially in the context of speedier globalisation and fiercer competition. To realise this target, PV Gas D has mapped out development strategy for the period through 2015 and orientation until 2025. In its strategy, PV Gas D sets out specific measures relating to personnel, training, equipment investment and market development.
 
As regards personnel, PV Gas D builds human resource development strategy on the basis of determining long-term development orientations in order to improve organisational professionalism and enhance business efficiency. It builds a flexible nomination and promotion regime to add motivations for employees to work at their highest capability, decentralises industry-specific operations to boost up autonomy in business operations.
 
In addition, PV Gas D builds human resource training and development plans to ensure basic and expert training in different methods and forms in accordance with standards applied at PV Gas Corporation and PetroVietnam Group. It also trains to improve expertise, managerial level, skills, foreign language for employees by sending them to domestic and overseas courses as well as organising in-house training programmes led by senior experts. At the same time, the firm studies and selectively applies advanced mechanical gas technologies in the world, especially automatic control technology.
 
In the future, PV Gas D continues to promote market development by diversifying products, actively introducing gas superiority and related issues to consumers by means of mass media, customer conferences, exhibitions and thematic classes, adopting policies to encourage gas users to shift from traditional gas to low pressure gas.
 
To become a leading low pressure gas supplier in Vietnam, PV Gas D will continue investing in low pressure gas distribution networks on a national scale. The construction progress of these projects will be kept in accordance with the progress of PV Gas-invested projects like onshore gas pipeline in Tien Hai, Thai Binh province; LNG import project, Lot BO Mon gas pipeline project.
