FECON initially undertakes on soil investigation, geotechnical testing and performs technical tasks including designing and construction for soft soil improvement; designing, manufacturing and piling pre-stressed concrete spun piles.

Since its establishment, FECON has focused on deeply investing in technology and human resource. For soil investigation, surveying and geotechnical testing and monitoring, FECON always concentrates on investment of the most advanced technologies so as to satisfy high quality and reliability. With the prior focus on science and technology, FECON has established the Foundation Engineering Institute-the first research institute belonging to a construction enterprise in order to optimize the technology solutions from the investigation and experiments to the foundation designing works of all construction kinds, especially underground projects.
 
For high effectiveness in geotechnical research and experiments, FECON has purchased advanced equipment such as investigation equipment from the Netherlands, Japan; geotechnical testing and monitoring devices from the United States. FECON has undertaken to investigate and geotechnical testing for many important projects
Regarding soft soil improvement, FECON has successfully applied newly vacuum preloading method for soft soil improvement projects in Vietnam. This technology has been applied and successfully implemented in many national key projects namely Nhon Trach 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant (Dong Nai), Dinh Vu Polyester Plant (Hai Phong), Thi Vai LPG Storage Tank Project (Ba Ria Vung Tau), Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant (Soc Trang), Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant.
 
Furthermore, FECON is one of a few companies that had earlier studied and invested in manufacturing technology of pre-stressed concrete spun piles with the largest diameter of 1200mm and maximum length of 27m, well qualifying for Japanese standards.
 
FECON pile factory is located in Thi Son Industrial Cluster, Ha Nam province. FECON piles have many advantages in terms of fast construction time compared to the traditional cast-in-place piles. Manufactured by advanced technology these piles achieve the strength of 80MPA, reduce the cost by 30 - 40 percent compared to the cast-in-place piles and 20 percent for normal reinforced concrete piles. Moreover, they shorten the time of construction by 50 percent with the quality absolutely controlled.
 
The quality of FECON piles is highly appreciated by domestic and foreign clients who trusted to select and put FECON piles into for construction of major projects such as Nghi Son 1 Plant Thermal Power, Dinh Vu polyester plant, PEPSI Bac Ninh, Thai Binh Petroleum Hotel,… With the purpose of meeting the market’s growing needs, in February 2010, FECON associated with PetroVietnam Construction Joint - Stock Corporation (PVC) to invest and build the second production line of PHC/PC concrete spun pile ( PVC-FECON Pre-stressed Concrete JSC ), with the largest scale in the North.
 
Particularly, in large projects such as Dinh Vu Polyester plant, the combination of Vacuum Preloading technology and pre-stressed concrete spun piles have brought significant efficiency to the clients in term of good quality and shorter construction schedule, which played an important role in the success of the whole project.
