PVC: The Impact of a Labour Hero

PVC was formerly the Oil and Gas Construction and Installation Enterprise set up in 1983 with the main task of preparing facilities for the oil and gas industry. To date, PVC has asserted its excellent reputation and pre-eminent capacity in all key oil and gas projects in Vietnam. To meet its expansive business operations, the corporation raised its registered capital from VND1,500 billion in 2009 to VND5,000 in 2011. Accordingly, its total revenues increased exponentially, from VND4,776 billion in 2009 to VND20,000 billion in 2011.

 

Projects from the onshore general service base at Vung Tau City to such works as the gas pipeline from Long Hai to Phu My, My Xuan and Dong Nai industrial parks and such key national projects as Phu My fertilizer plant and Nhon Trach 1 thermal power plant are hallmarks of PVC’s important role. By accumulating capacity and experience after years as a subcontractor for international contractors, PVC has emerged to be a top-notch EPC (engineering procurement construction) contractor for bigger projects with increasingly complicated technological requirement like Go Dau LPG petroleum storage depot, Thai Binh 2 thermal power plant and Nhon Trach 2 thermal power plant.

 

In addition, PVC reaffirms its strengths in the oil and gas construction industry by undertaking EPC contractor roles in oil and gas transporting and storing projects like Cu Lao Tao petroleum storage depot and Dung Quat LPG storage depot and tank export base. Together with strengthening and developing traditional fields like building oil and gas storing and transporting systems, engineering and fabricating oil and gas equipment, PVC has also affirmed its brand name in industrial and civil construction projects like PetroVietnam Hotel Complex, PetroVietnam Finance Centre and Petroleum Institute Office.
