PM Meets with Qatari Emir
PM Nguyen Tan Dung received on January 16 the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung highly valued positive developments in the two nations’ relations and agreements reached during the talks between State President Truong Tan Sang and the Emir of the State.
He said the Vietnamese Government wants to push up the multilateral relations with Qatar, specifically in the fields of oil and gas, labor, agriculture and training.
Besides, the Vietnamese Government is ready to cooperate with Qatar in establishing joint-investment fund to invest in the Third World.
Mr. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani stressed that Qatar always regards the relations with Vietnam and creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese laborers to work in Qatar.
The same day, PM Dung also received newly-appointed Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Andrej Motyl.
In 2011, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Sweden reached around US $3.3 billion and Sweden’s direct investment in Vietnam was estimated at US $2 billion.
Vietnam will work to promote the two nations’ cooperative ties deeply, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
He expressed hope that the Ambassador will contribute to boosting the two countries’ relations in all fields, especially economics, investment, education, banking and the environment.
Mr. Andrej Motyl revealed that Sweden expects for Vietnam’s support at international and regional forums.
