Doan Thi Diem Ha Long Primary and Secondary School is located on a campus of 20,485 square metres in Cao Xanh urban zone, Ha Khanh B, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province. The school was invested by Doan Thi Diem Education Development Joint Stock Company with the permission of the Provincial People’s Committee. In the 2011-2012 school year, the school completed facilities and started enrolment. This is the first private school licensed to be built in Quang Ninh province to cooperate with other private schools in Hanoi.
Nguyen Thi Hong An, director of the company and principal of the school, has brought all her experience and dedication in teaching and educational management, gained in more than 30 years, to the school. Returning from Doan Thi Diem School (Hanoi), she invested in education in her hometown. For her, in education investment, profit is secondary but creating an educational product built on the experience and creativity of her and her family is a primary drive.
Apart from more than VND110 billion invested for a beautiful space for teaching and learning activities and for extra-curricular activities, the school also focuses on building dormitories for teachers and boarding students, restaurants and physical training facilities. Once completed, the school will have about 100 standard classrooms for 2,500 students.
The school uses the model of its sister Doan Thi Diem School (Primary, Secondary and High School) in Hanoi. To support parents to manage their children, the school organises car shuttle service to fetch day students. Each grade will have a health assistant assigned to ensure appropriate care of the health and diet of students. The school has facilities for students from distant areas to stay.
With the objective of comprehensively developing “knowledge, physical strength and beauty” for students, in addition to standard programmes prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, the school also teaches students with other knowledge through physical, gifted training and other skills.
The establishment of the school has timely met the local demand for advanced and high-quality education in Ha Long City.
