Vietnam - Colombia Multifaceted Relations Promoted
Vietnam and Colombia need to strengthen exchanges and boost up trade and investment promotion activities for their two-way trade turnover to further increase.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement at his reception for visiting Colombian FM Maria Angela Holguin on February 27.
The PM highly valued the agreement achieved in the Colombian FM’s talks with Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh.
He urged the two sides to sign cooperative agreements on economic, oil and gas, agriculture, investment protection and education as well as create a legal framework to promote the two countries’ bilateral relations.
Vietnam welcomes and will create favorable possible conditions for Colombian investors to do long-term investment in the country, he asserted.
He also asked Colombia to recognize Vietnam as a market economy and support each other at all the multi-lateral forums, especially the United Nations.
The Colombian FM revealed that she will work and send the Vietnamese PM’s requests to Colombian functional agencies. She also expected that Vietnam will pay due attention to developing Latin American and Southeast Asian inter-regional cooperation.
