PM Okays Personnel for National Council on Sustainable Development & Competitiveness Enhancement

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung issued the Decision No. 873/QD-TTg dated July 16, 2012 to approve the list of 41 members of the National Council on Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Enhancement.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan was named the chairman of the council. Deputy chairpersons of the council include Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Quang Vinh; Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Nguyen Minh Quang; and Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son.

 

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong was appointed the standing member of the council, and Mr Nguyen Ba An, Senior Official of Secretary Department and Editor of the Office of the Government, was made the general secretary of the council. Other members are representatives of centrally run agencies, departments and organisations and State-owned economic groups.

 

Dr Doan Duy Khuong, Executive Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and President of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), was appointed a member.

 

The charter of the council is expected to be released soon.
