Motorola Helps Vietnam Develop IT

Motorola Corporation and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPT) recently jointly organised courses in software production management processes according to the capability maturity model, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

These programmes are among the first initiatives of the US$200,000 scholarship fund that Motorola awarded to MPT this year. This is Motorola's second year of sponsorship in line with MPT’s development strategy: to develop skilled human resources for Vietnam's software industry.

The goal of the training programme is to train programmers and managers in a comprehensive understanding of professional software production processes, methods and standards of software development and the required skills to organise and manage the software production process.

Motorola was one of the very first American companies entering Vietnam with three core businesses: two-way radios, and mobile network infrastructure and mobile handsets. Motorola's presence is one of long term commitments, with dedicated resources to help Vietnamese people develop the economy with the help of telecommunications solutions. Further assistance to Vietnam in IT and software development is one of Motorola's current initiatives.
