Apparel Sector Aims for US$15 Billion
The Vietnamese garment and textile sector is likely to achieve its target of earning US$15 billion from exports in 2012 ahead of schedule, said Dang Phuong Dung, Secretary General of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas).
Garment exports in August earned US$1.59 billion, raking in US$10.8 billion in eight months, representing a year-on-year increase of 6 percent. The sector maintained the position of top exporter of Vietnam. Once taking effect, Vietnamese garments and textiles will enjoy a plenty of tax preferences.
