Linh Trung EPZ Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Sepzone-Linh Trung Company - a joint venture between Vietnam and China - held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th birthday of Linh Trung Export Processing Zone (1992-2012) in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
Linh Trung Export Processing Zone - one of the first successful export processing zone models in Vietnam - was established in accordance to the renovation and opening policy towards the goal of industrialisation and modernisation initiated in 1986. To date, Sepzone-Linh Trung Company has built three export processing zones in Vietnam, including two in HCM City and one in Tay Ninh province. These facilities attracted 141 domestic and foreign investors with an investment of more than US$700 million, which generate total export - import turnover of US$3.2 billion a year and 92,000 jobs. In addition, the company has paid VND90 billion to the State Budget and donated VND4.2 billion province charity foundations since 1996.
 
With its achievements in the past 20 years, Linh Trung Export Processing Zone has been honoured with a lot of awards and titles by the Vietnamese Government, including the Third-grade Labour Order (2006) and Second-grade Labour Order (2011) awarded by the State President, the Certificate of Merits by the Prime Minister (2009) for its achievements in coordinating and supporting foreign investment capital attraction and its investment in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
Particularly, on its 20th founding anniversary, the company was presented the Emulation Flag by the Mayor of HCM City. Mr Nguyen Van Be, First Deputy General Director of Sepzone-Linh Trung was bestowed with Third-grade Labour Order by the State President.
