Vietnam, Denmark Cooperate in Enhancing Efficiency of Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Programme

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Tran Hong Ha, had a meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of Denmark, Lis Rasmussen Rosenholm, on the implementation of Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Programme (CCAM).

 

According to the Agreement on CCAM Program between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Denmark, funds sponsored by the Government of Denmark will be used for the National Climate Change Response Target Programme at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the National Programme on Energy Conservation and Efficiency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

 

The climate change adaptation component will support the implementation of the National Climate Change Response Target Programme at the national level, and particularly Ben Tre and Quang Nam, the two provinces most vulnerable to climate change. Objectives of the component are to improve the capacity and efficiency of coping with climate change in Vietnam in order to ensure sustainable development, help the people avoid these adverse effects and join hands with the world to prevent and mitigate climate change risks.
