“Establishing Foundation for Sustainable Development"

This is the topic of the Annual Meeting of Consultative Group (CG) for Vietnam slated for opening on December 10, 2012 in Hanoi.

 

This year’s meeting includes Vietnam Economic Update: Enhancing efficiency and competitiveness, updating macroeconomic situation in 2012 and priorities in 2013; Education and skills: Creating the foundation for successful entry into middle-income countries; Revised land policy towards sustainable and inclusive development; and CG development process: A new method for high-level policy dialogue.

 

Ahead of the CG Meeting, the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) - an organised dialogue mechanism between the Vietnamese Government and the business community - will take place in Hanoi in December 3, 2012 under the theme of “Restoring economic momentum.”

 

The CG Meeting for Vietnam will have the attendance of officials of the Vietnamese Government, bilateral and multilateral donors, and nongovernmental organisations. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will lead a Vietnamese government delegation to the meeting. Vietnamese Planning and Investment Minister Bui Quang Vinh and World Bank Country Director for Vietnam Victoria Kwakwa will co-host the meeting.
