“CSR Award is greatly meaningful to every company. This award recognises our company’s efforts and contributions to the construction and development of corporate social responsibility in Vietnam,” said Mr Li Chun Yen, Director of JIA HSIN Co., Ltd in an interview with Vietnam Business Forum. What factors has helped your company to assert its name and position in the heart of partners and customers over the past years? Could you briefly introduce your company’s business activities?
To become a top-choice provider for many large and well-known customers throughout the world, we always focus on developing such elements as product quality, production technology, customer service and governance to enhance compliance and system building. We want our production activities to be really creative and effective and become a leading responsible supplier in foam slipper manufacturing industry.
 
CSR is considered an important measure to assess the core values ​​of a company in the integration process. How has JIA HSIN complied with this?
 Our company always abides by Vietnamese laws and international standards. We have commitments from the management, adequate personnel and resources to carry out the corporate social responsibility.
 
How does CSR Award mean to your company?
CSR Award is greatly meaningful to every company. This award recognises our company’s efforts and contributions to the construction and development of corporate social responsibility in Vietnam. The award will be a great gift for the company in general and social responsibility division in particular. In addition, the award is a positive encouragement and motivation for our company to continue to do CSR more effectively in the future.
 
CSR Award 2012 honours companies doing good CSR and having outstanding achievements in labour and environment from 2010 to 2012. How has your company exercised CSR?
On labour, we always obey the labour laws so as to improve the livelihoods of workers, improve their professional skills for their career development. We also develop compliance mechanism at our factories and carries out career development policies. We also have appointment, work assignment and training plans best for individual workers. Besides, we have plans to train potential staffs for management positions. We also train new professional skills for workers in order to help them work in different positions in the company.
 
On environment, we never harm the environment. We establish the environmental management system, organise environmental events with the participation of local residents, raise awareness of environmental protection for our employees by sending them to plant trees in schools, joining the Earth Hours, launching environment month, etc. We also have many activities and programmes for employees, their families and local residents.
 
As the leader of a company with outstanding performance in CSR, do you have any proposals to make CSR Award more effective and meaningful?
CSR Award should be held more often to increase its efficiency and encourage more companies to implement corporate social responsibility and register for the award. Enterprises should be guided to prepare applications for the award.
