The 11th International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition (MTA Vietnam 2013) officially opened in Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC) on July 2, 2013. MTA Vietnam 2013 was organised by Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd (SES) and VCCI Exhibition Service Co Ltd.
Growth in both quality and quantity
MTA Vietnam 2013 had seen a remarkable increase in participation of Vietnamese businesses since its inauguration in 2005. This year, 67 exhibitors from Vietnam took part in the show, accounting for 20 percent of total 341 exhibitors from 21 countries, compared with just 10 percent in 2005.

Eleven big pavilions for foreign countries displayed high-quality machines and equipment which suited Vietnam’s demands and promoted the development of domestic machinery and tool industries.
Ideal trade forum
MTA Vietnam 2013 also had the presence of many famous names such as Big Daishowa, Flow, Haas Automation, Studer and Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal. Mr Tee Boon Teong, Deputy Chief Representative of Singapore Exhibition Services in Vietnam, said MTA Vietnam 2013 created a dynamic and potential market. The increase in local participation this year was a good sign for the development of Vietnamese manufacturing industry. He said the continued development of Vietnamese manufacturing industry resulted in the development of ancillary industries. MTA Vietnam was hoped to serve as a trade forum to support high development requirements of Vietnam.
OLAS, a leading supplier of industrial laser and high-tech machines, is a veteran exhibitor at MTA. It evidently benefited from the influx of demand for machine tools. Mr Hang Lian Bang, CEO of OLAS, said OLAS would showcase Servo Electric E5X punching machine from PrimaPower - Italy/Finland brand for the first time in Vietnam. He believed in the success of this product.
MTA Vietnam 2013 also had a number of first time local exhibitors showcasing a variety of manufacturing solutions from laser machines to measurement devices and welding equipment. They included Bibus Vietnam, H-tek, Ito Vietnam, Han’s Laser Technology and VMS.
Apart from opportunities to contact with visitors and industry insiders/outsiders, exhibitors also had the chance to attend many competitions and seminars incorporated with MTA Vietnam 2013. Many industry experts presented information about the development of Vietnamese welding technologies, latest industry solutions and trends, performance, quality, management, design and processing.
