VND7,000Bln for HCM City-Trung Luong Highway

The Government Office has recently approved an investment of VND7,000 billion for the construction of HCM City-Trung Luong Highway, recommended by the Ministry of Transport. The highway is scheduled to be built in the fourth quarter of 2004 and completed in 2007.

The highway’s construction must be environmentally-friendly and ensure flood protection in the Mekong Delta. The government has approved the recommendation of the Ministry of Transport to invite Quality Courier International Company (Cuba) to act as a supervisory consultant to the project.

On October 27, the government also approved the investment of VND598 billion for the expansion of the Trung Luong - My Thuan section of Highway 1.
