Vietnam Gets Experience in the Netherlands' Maritime Industry
VCCI's Ho Chi Minh City Branch held a meeting between Vietnamese enterprises and their business partners from the Netherlands to exchange views and experience in the maritime industry on November 2, 2004.
Vietnamese participants were provided with information from many famous equipment suppliers of the Netherlands' shipbuilding industry. According to Mr. Hans Peter Verhoeff, First Secretary of the Netherlands' Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam has big advantages in the shipbuilding industry and same conditions in term of seaports like the his country, therefore it is necessary to set up relations between the two governments and organise more meetings for enterprises of the two countries to seek investment opportunities.
At the meeting, Mr. Hans also introduced investment and trade promotion tools of the Netherlands' Government to Vietnam, including programmes on export assistance, infrastructure development support, environment improvement, and job creation. The foreign government will offer non-refundable aid worth 35 per cent of the programmes’ total value if they are feasible and conducted by Vietnamese companies, he stressed.
