The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has approved a non-refundable official development assistance (ODA) for a technical assistance project to develop wind power in Vietnam from now until August 2014.

The “Building wind-power connecting regulations and studying renewable energy integration in Vietnam” project is expected to be carried out in 12 months from August 2013 to August 2014 with a total fund of US$287,917.

Vietnam now has only two wind power plants with a total capacity of 60MW in Binh Thuan and Bac Lieu provinces which have been already connected to the national grid.
