SA 8000 Training Course to Open in
Ethical Trade Initiative of Norway (ETI-N), Social Accountability International (SAI) and the Association of Garment, Textile, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEX) will co-organise a training course on the Social Accountability 8000 (SA 8000) standard for safe and decent workplace on conditions in SMEs and the development of effective management for ensuring ongoing compliance with that standard on November 18 and 19, in Ho Chi Minh City.
The two-day training course will cover many problems regarding workplace codes of conduct and the SA8000 standard and experiences of Asian producers already working on SA8000 certification, etc.
Participants will benefit from being able to work with SAI's new factory self-assessment tool that allows a factory to benchmark itself against the SA8000 standard. This tool is also a useful way for a factory to evaluate its strengths and weakness in meeting SA8000 and other codes of conduct.
