Local Banks Allowed to Put Money in Securities Investment Funds

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the country’s central bank, has permitted local commercial banks to contribute capital to securities investment funds licensed by the State Securities Commission (SSC).

However, banks must ensure State regulations on capital security and limits of contributed capital, as well as deduct the capital contributed to those funds from their equities when calculating the capital safety rate and other safety rates.
