Vietcans Creates New Image for Vietnamese Products

Vietcans, which used to be Cansalipack Joint Venture licensed by the Ministry of Planning and Investment on December 9, 1995, is a large can production joint venture between Package Import - Export and Production Company under the Ministry of Trade and Euro Metal Cans Holding with designed capacity of 30 million cans per annum.

Vietcans mainly supplies cans to producers and processors of foodstuff and agricultural products for export. The company now has more than 40 major clients nationwide. To raise business efficiency, in April 2001, it changed ownership, and its production and business geared toward the diversification of business lines including traditional production, general business, banking services and so on. In so doing, the company's employees have found out technical improvement initiatives to limit substandard products to below permission rate. As a result, its sales are estimated to rise by from 120 per cent to 140 per cent annually in the 2002-2004 period.

Vietcans products are specific commodities in the package making sector. In addition to the function of protecting goods, the products also play a very important role in creating attractive images for goods. The company, therefore, pays much attention to diversifying packaging models to better meet customers' requirements. Apart from its traditional customers, in the coming time, the company will strive to preserve and strengthen its prestige in market, seek new customers and boost up its trademark development in the international arena via partners.
