Mr. Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, Deputy Managing Director and General Manager Vietnam of Reed Tradex Co., Ltd. said that as today, Vietnam is the next destination for Foreign Investment in various sectors, while the crucial factors in discussion is still pinpointed to the development of Supporting Industries.

The Vietnamese Government is now aiming at six industries to be prioritized for developments are Textiles and Garments; Leather-footwear; Electronics & Informatics; Manufacturing and Assembly of Automobiles; Mechanical Engineering; and Supporting Industry Products for high-tech industry development.

Supporting industries play a key role in promoting the development of Vietnam’s main industries, since if this sector remains undeveloped, large foreign-invested manufacturing and assembling companies will leave Vietnam on default of local supplies. Therefore, the government’s supports are needed, while the private sectors should drive the collaboration in building up the network, and help develop the supporting industries to cover the value chains.
