The Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City will scan and screen exports and imports on a precedence priority so as to shorten customs clearance time for exporting and importing activities and tighten State management over customs.

Accordingly, when the containerised cargo is carried from ships to automobiles, customs authorities will scan and screen it before it is arranged in yards or do this at crane positions.

With exports branded green lines, customs authorities will scan and screen some batches at random. Accordingly, after the freight has customs procedures cleared, customs authorities will scan and screen it is taken out of the port site. This work is free of charge for enterprises and is proven not to affect the customs clearance process while helping prevent smuggling and trade fraudulence.

The Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City will is building this policy and apply it soon. Currently, the department has five container scanners which are being used in Cat Lai Port (three scanners), VICT HCM City (one scanner) and Phuoc Long - Thu Duc ICD (one scanner).
