The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the Embassy of Belgium and the Belgian Development Agency in Vietnam jointly launched a comic drawing competition on gender equality in Hanoi on November 24. The contest is part of a UN campaign to end violence against women, which runs from November 25 to December 16, 2015.

According to the organizers, Vietnamese citizens living in the homeland and aged above 18 years are allowed to participate in the contest.

The competition runs from November 25 to December 10. The winner will have an opportunity to visit Belgium, dubbed as “the kingdom of the cartoon”. The contest will also find second and third-prize winners. The three most outstanding painters will be awarded at a ceremony in March 2016 in Hanoi.

In addition, 10 comics will be selected for display in an exhibition and printed in other publications. Women are encouraged to join this contest and a prize will be awarded to the first female contestant.
