Poland Offers US$200-Mln Loans to Vietnam's Shipbuilding Industry

The Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) recently signed contracts of transferring shipbuilding technologies worth around US$200 million with Polish shipbuilders at a meeting in Hanoi between the chambers of commerce and industry of Vietnam and Poland as part of Polish Prime Minister's visit to Vietnam.

With modern shipbuilding technologies from Poland, which has a developed shipbuilding industry, Vietnamese-manufactured sea-going vessels will easily enter third-world countries, said shipbuilders at the meeting. Poland has provided Vietnam with US$70 million in loans to build ships so far.
