Ministry of Tourism Needed to Be Established
To meet the growth rate and increasing demand of the Vietnamese tourism industry, travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City proposed the Government to set up a Ministry of Tourism at a meeting with a National Assembly (NA) delegation recently.
Low quality services and products, and lots of troubles at tourism resorts in localities have partly pushed the rate of Vietnam’s non-returning foreigners to 75 per cent. Therefore, they also urged the NA to ratify the Law of Tourism as soon as possible in a bid to make the service sector much better, which is blamed for facing a poor management at present. The move is expected to help the national non-smoky industry realise the targets of 3.2 million foreign visitors and revenue of US$1.91 billion this year.
