Thailand Imposes 310.74 Pct of Antidumping Duty on Vietnam Stainless Steel Pipes
The Vietnam Competition Authority (VCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) under the Thailand Ministry of Commerce has announced the final decision for an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel pipes and tubes imported from South Korea, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. Accordingly, Thailand will impose an antidumping tariff of 310.74 per cent on stainless steel pipes and tubes imported from Vietnam. Products subject to the above tariff carry the codes of HS 7305.31.10.000; 7306.11.10.000; 7306.11.90.000; 7306.21.00.000; 7306.40.10.010; 7306.40.10.020; 7306.40.20.010; 7306.40.20.020; 7306.40.30.010; 7306.40.30.020; 7306.40.90.010; 7306.40.90.020; 7306.61.00.021 and 7306.61.00.022.
This high duty rate will directly impact Vietnamese steel exporters. They may cut export of these items to Thailand.
The case was initiated and filed on September 17, 2015 by Thailand-German Products Company and Puerto The Millennium Company. Before making the final announcement on this tax rate, DFT had sent materiality data and held a hearing on this case.
