Provisional Anti-dumping Tax Imposed on Galvanized Steel
Vietnam will impose temporary anti-dumping duties on galvanised steel imported from China (including Hong Kong) and South Korea from September 16, 2016. The temporary anti-dumping tax rates will be 4.02-38.34 per cent. Products from Yieh Phui (China) Technomaterial Co., Ltd will be charged the lowest tax rate of 4.02 per cent and products from Bazhou Sanquiang Metal Products Co., Ltd are levied the highest rate of 38.34 per cent. The duty on South Korea’s galvanised steel products of Posco will be 12.4 per cent.
Anti-dumping measures will be temporarily applied for 120 days, scheduled to end on January 13, 2017. Where the final decision of the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam shows that the imposition of anti-dumping measures is unnecessary or the final anti-dumping duty is lower than temporary anti-dumping duty imposed, the tax difference will be refunded to taxpayers according to the law. Where anti-dumping duty is higher than the final anti-dumping tariff temporarily applied, taxpayers do not have to pay tax differences.
