Mr Pham Quang Toan, Director of the Information Technology Department under the General Department of Taxation, said that the General Department of Taxation is supporting 210 companies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to register and use electronic invoices verified by tax authorities.

He explained that continued support for the experiment of electronic invoices verified by tax authorities for 210 companies rather than scaling up the scope of application results from the absence of perfect software. With the active response from companies, the IT Department is also cooperating with relevant agencies to lease IT services for service providers to expand the applicable scope of electronic invoice validated by tax authorities.

The IT Department is carrying out the electronic tax declaration and payment scheme for house renting, land and house transfer (personal income tax and registration fee) and the electronic tax payment scheme for automobile and motorcycle registration fees. The General Department of Taxation said, as of August 15, 2016, more than 99 per cent of taxpaying businesses registered to declare taxes via electronic media. Over 95 per cent of companies registered to pay tax electronically, of which 80 per cent had tax payment receipts. As much as over VND208 trillion was collected via electronic methods.
