Marking the International Day of Women, March 8, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI),
Tran Thi Ngoc Thinh, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union, said that according to statistics, 75 per cent of Vietnamese work in economic fields. In Ho Chi Minh City, women entrepreneurs account for 30 per cent of over 30,000 enterprises of all economic sectors. Enterprises run by women gain VND 0.13 on VND 1 capital, higher than the average of VND 0.11.
From the legal point of view, lawyer Truong Thi Hoa said that the current law has ensured the life for women and women entrepreneurs in particular. Also, to be successful in business and happy in life, women entrepreneurs need more knowledge. Nguyen Thi Huong, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Women Entrepreneurs, called on women entrepreneurs to unify and provide assistance to each other.
