Promoting Trade, Investment Cooperation with Hunan Province (China)
President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc recently had a working meeting with a Hunan business delegation led by Mr He Bao Xiang, Vice Governor of Hunan Province, in Hanoi.
At the meeting, Dr Loc welcomed the big business delegation from Hunan Province to Vietnam to explore new investment opportunities. In an intimate atmosphere, he recalled the warm affection that President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam and President Mao Tse-tung of China had cultivated for the faithful and close friendship and comradeship between the two nations.
At the reception, the host said that, in the operating structure of the VCCI International Relations Department, about 50 per cent of jobs are involved with Chinese investors. This shows the importance and influence of Chinese businesses to Vietnamese peers. Therefore, he is very respectful and appreciative of Chinese investors and businesses.
Vice Governor of Hunan Province He BaoXiang said, the presence of Hunan businesses in Vietnam is quite large. The province already founded the Hunan Business Association in Vietnam. The membership climbed from 300 in 2012 to 600 now.
Hunan Province wishes to have more cooperation projects with Vietnam to import and introduce the country’s products such as food and merchandise to Hunan in the coming time, he said. As it is located in the middle of China, Vietnamese goods will be easily transported throughout China via Hunan.
In addition, he wishes VCCI will host many exhibitions and business delegations to Hunan to join in economic-trade activities in the coming time. Mr He BaoXiang also informed that, approved by the Chinese Government, Hunan Province will host the International Railway Fair in 2019. This is a good chance for Hunan as well as other Chinese localities to introduce and expand their logistic transport networks to international friends. He expressed his hope that VCCI will send official and business delegations to Hunan to exchange investment opportunities with Hunan businesses in general and Chinese companies in particular on this occasion.
