Being present in Vietnam since the 1960s, Bühler has constantly grown in both size and capacity. This success comes from Bühler Vietnam’s respect for and compliance with standards, its delivery of innovative and technical solutions, its generation of high-value products at reasonable prices for customers, and its commitments to enforcing covenants with Vietnamese customers in a responsible manner. To learn more about Bühler Vietnam’s secret of success, Vietnam Business Forum Magazine has an interview with Mr. Rustom Mistry, Director of Bühler Vietnam. Hoang Lam reports.
Could you please share something about Bühler’s operations in Vietnam, especially its core businesses and key products?
With over 150 years of development, Bühler has been at the forefront of scientific and technological advances in such industries as cereal, food and advanced materials (die casting, wet grinding and surface coating). Bühler is currently a global leader of wheat milling, rice milling, chocolate processing and pressure die casting.
In the Vietnamese market, Bühler's operations cover core areas such as milling rice and manioc, processing animal and aquatic feeds, processing chocolate and coffee, sorting colours of high-value products (almonds, cashew nuts and coffee); operating non-food business (grinding and distributing inks, paints and drugs; pressure moulders for automobiles and other casts).
Bühler Vietnam can supply all or part of machinery and equipment in production lines, complete technological solutions for rice processing in Vietnam and regional markets. Machinery and equipment parts are stored and made available at local service stations, thus helping customers save considerable time and costs of maintenance.
In addition to top-quality products, Bühler’s competitive advantages lie in global customer care services, which are highly appreciated. Would you tell us more about this strength?
As a technology leader in its business fields, Bühler provides its customers with solutions to obtain long-term successes.
Bühler has been present in Vietnam since the 1960s and has constantly grown in both scale and operational capacity. We set up a Vietnam factory staffed by more than 200 employees engaged in sales, service, engineering, R&D, technology, machine and parts manufacturing, purchasing, logistics and support divisions to make sure that customer successes are delivered.
We also have local employees trained in Europe to adapt advanced technologies to match local requirements. With its operating principle “Our customers’ success is ours”, we always stay close to customers, listen to them and provide the most affordable solutions. This effort has made our customers successful and very satisfied.
How do you assess the investment environment in Vietnam in general and in Long An province in particular?
In Vietnam, Bühler has invested heavily in business facilities and is committed to further expanding its operations. Accordingly, we have bought more vacant land next to our factories for future expansions.
Vietnam in particular and Long An province in general has a promising investment environment and Bühler Vietnam can clearly see our bright future here. The Party and the State of Vietnam have many good policies enabling the development of rice milling and agriculture, but farmers are yet to enjoy much from these policies. Therefore, we hope that Long An leaders will try to disseminate the Government's programmes and policies to support farmers to apply advanced production technology in the coming time to benefit from these programmes and policies to make more Vietnamese agricultural products go global.
Vietnam possesses a rich and diverse source of materials. What matters is that we must boldly invest in technology to convert them into end products of high quality and international standard.
Thank you very much!
