Parliament Leader Starts Tour to Belgium, EP
Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly, the country's top legislature, Nguyen Van An, arrived in Brussels yesterday for a visit to Belgium and the European Parliament (EP).
Belgium is the second stopover of the chairman's 15-day trip to Italy, Belgium, the UK, Switzerland and the EP. It is also the first time that An has come to the European nation so far this year.
The chairman is a guest of the Speaker of the Belgian House of Representatives, Hermn Decroo, and EP President Josep Borrell Fontelles.
After arriving, An held working sessions with the President of the EP International Trade Commission Enrique Baron Crespo, President of the EP Economic and Monetary Commission Perrevenche Beres, and President of the External Relations Commission Almar Brok, at EP headquarters in Brussels.
To date, Belgian businessmen have invested US$73 million in 25 projects in Vietnam. Vietnam sells shoes, diamonds, textiles, seafood and agricultural products to Belgium and imports dairy products, diamonds, machines, electronic devices and pharmaceutical products.
