As a core drive of industrial and urban development in Vinh Phuc province, Binh Xuyen district has focused on planning industrial parks for development in recent years. Site clearance is determined to be a key task to attract investment and boost local economic development.
From 2007 to 2016, Binh Xuyen district conducted land compensation for 105 ha out of 168.5ha Binh Xuyen Industrial Park, with the remaining area of nearly 63 ha lying in Son Loi commune, including 20 ha in Ngoc Bao village and 43 ha in An Lao village. Currently, the district completed payment of over VND17 billion for land compensation for 156 out of 171 households owning about 8.3 ha.
According to the plan, Ba Thien II Industrial Park covers a total area of nearly 310 ha in Ba Hien, Thien Ke and Trung My communes. The district has cleared more than 204 ha of land, including nearly 19 ha in Ba Hien commune, over 80 ha in Trung My commune and nearly three ha in Thien Ke commune. Currently, Binh Xuyen district is also working closely with the infrastructure investor of Ba Thien II Industrial Park to propagate and mobilize local people to hand over ground to the investor. Particularly for over 200 ha of completely cleared land, the infrastructure developer of Ba Thien II Industrial Park has quickly completed the essential infrastructure system for tenants.
Both site clearance work of the district and investment attraction policies of the province have facilitated many companies to work effectively in the province like Piaggio Vietnam Company, Vietnam - Germany Steel Joint Stock Company, Prime Group, Japfa Comfeed Joint Stock Company and Nissin Brake Manufacturing Company. The strong business development has greatly helped local socioeconomic development and increase local budget revenue. In the year to date, the industrial production value reached VND35,700 billion. The economic structure was shifted in the right direction, with 91.14% of industry and construction, 3.13% of agriculture, forestry and fishery, and 5.73% of service.
In the coming time, Binh Xuyen district will continue focusing on infrastructure development to attract investors and serve industrial development; promote administrative reform to best serve businesses; facilitate and draw investment in four operational industrial parks to raise the occupancy rate from 70% to 85% or more by 2020 and fill 60 - 70% of rentable industrial land in Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park by 2020. Particularly, the district gives priority to high-tech industries, environment-friendly industries, mechanics and electronics and focus on developing satellite supporting industries for industrial parks.
