SmartBank and FPT BIS Play Triumph with Sao Khue Software Award 2005

Two products of the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT), SmartBank and FPT Bis, were selected on March 27, 2005 to receive the Sao Khue Software Award 2005. This is the country’s most prestigious software award hosted by the Vietnam Software Association.

SmartBank (in banking-finance group) and FPT Bis (telecoms group) were selected from  17 software products, representing 11 groups of software in different fields in Vietnam, thanks to their creativity, quality, applicability and applicable efficiency, especially in market works and professional support services.

SmartBank, already registered for intellectual property, won the Silver Cup of Information Technology-Communication Vietnam awards 2003 and 2004 hosted by the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP); and Gold Medal for the highest profitable software at the Computer World Expo 2004 held in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, over ten foreign and local banks employ SmartBank.

FPT Bis is the only software made by the post-telecom group with three main parts: charge calculation, customer service and debt management systems. Bis plays an important role for telecoms service suppliers. It was developed on criteria for the building of the an information system for the telecoms industry, in the form of modulization, and is divided into multi functional sub-systems. Hence, the upgrade of these subsystems can be done easily, helping suppliers to meet the increasing demand of the booming telecommunications market.

At present, these two products have been sold to Lao and Cambodia and are heading to Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and some other countries next year.
