TOEIC Helps Boost Vietnam's Tourism

 

A seminar on "Application of TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) in tourism" was organised by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) on March 29, 2005 in Hanoi. In recent years, Vietnam has been regarded as a safe and attractive holiday destination, and foreign tourists have increased to 2 million a year.

 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Vu Tan Canh, VNAT Deputy Director General said that to make Vietnam a tourist centre of the region in 2020, the development of human resources is most crucial and English language most essential.

 

At the seminar, discussions were focused on the application of TOEIC in the tourist sector, TOEIC programme in the development of hotels, travel agencies, tourist guides and experiences from Thailand, Korea and Japan. TOEIC will help upgrade Vietnamese staff to the region’s standard.
