EC Grant EUR17Mln to Poverty Reduction in North Region

The European Commission (EC) will provide EUR17 million in grants for Vietnam to carry out a poverty reduction project in the northern region, which has received government approval.

Vietnam will contribute EUR1.6 million to the EUR18.6 million project.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will sign the agreement with the EC.

The project will be implemented in the northern mountainous provinces of Cao Bang and Bac Can, where poverty remains high.
