Vietnam’s garment and textile exports to the US gained around US$500 million in the first three months of this year, including over US$100 million of earnings from non-quota products, according to the Ministry of Trade’s statistics.
Category 338/339 is posted to have the biggest export turnover of US$114 million out of 25 quota-controlled products over the past three months.
However, export revenues of automatically visa granted products only attained US$10 million.
In general, Vietnam’s garment and textile exports to the US are decreasing and much lower than the Trade Ministry’s target of US$1.2-1.4 billion set for the first six months.
Vietnam hopes to earn around US$2.75 billion from exporting garments and textiles to the US market this year.
