Construction of Thu Thiem Bridge Starts

 

The construction of the Thu Thiem Bridge started in Ho Chi Minh City on April 24, 2005 after nine years. The bridge will play an important role, promoting the development of District 2.

The bridge runs from the crossroad of Ngo Tat To and Nguyen Huu Canh streets in Binh Thanh district to Luong Dinh Cua Street in District 2. It will have six lanes with a total length of 1,250 metres and a width of 28 metres. A tunnel with four lanes will be built on Nguyen Huu Canh Street. Total investment of VND 1,099 billon comes from Ho Chi Minh City budget. It is expected that the construction of the bridge will completed in 2007.

New Entertainment Complex to be Built in Haiphong

Construction on an ecotourism and entertainment complex will be kicked off in the northern port city of Haiphong on May 17. The project will be jointly carried out by the Tan Quang Minh Ltd. Co. and many local and foreign investors.

The complex, covering a total area of 151.24 hectares, will stretch from western part to the eastern part of the city with the Hon Ngoc canal curving as a phoenix ahead and the Son Phuong mountain bending as a dragon behind. The complex is divided into two zones: The first is about 2 kilometers far from Binh bridge along former National Road No. 10 and shares the same border with Thuy Nguyen district while the second is 1.5 kilometers far from Kien bridge belong to the existing National Road No. 10.

The complex, the first of its kinds in the city, includes a villa area, a health resort, an international culture center, a tourism service center, and a sport and recreation zone, etc.

Once operational, the complex is expected to satisfy the city’s demand for recreation, sports, relaxation, shopping and ecotourism.
