Local Firms to Attend Trade Fair in Russia’s Khabarovsk Region
Scores of Vietnamese enterprises are expected to participate in a trade fair in Russia’s Khabarovsk Region from September 28 to October 1, 2005.
The enterprises will be supported by the Vietnam Exhibition & Advertisement Co. and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Khabarovsk.
Last month in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry held a conference to introduce the economic potentials of Russia’s Khabarovsk Region and discuss investment and trade cooperation possibilities between Vietnam and Khabarovsk.
The conference was organized during a visit by a Khabarovsk business delegation to Vietnam, which consists of representatives of the region’s 30 leading enterprises. The enterprises operate in the fields of shipbuilding, construction, producing medical equipment, computers, office equipment and beverages, tourism, education and wood processing.
Many visiting enterprises said at the conference that they would expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners, particularly in the shipbuilding and mining industries.
Vietnam raked in $55.79 million from exports to Russia in the first quarter of this year, with the main exports being rubber, tea, rice, cashew nuts, footwear, seafood, garments and computers.
