The third Saigon Leather & Shoes Fair will take place in
The eight-day fair set to begin on June 29 at the Military Zone 7 Stadium will feature machinery and technology in the leather tanning and shoe making industries as well as footwear.
This will be an opportunity for local leather and footwear manufacturers to introduce their products to foreign importers, said Nguyen Van Khanh, office manager of the Ho Chi Minh City Shoes and Leather Association.
The 2003 and 2004 fairs were much smaller and targeted the domestic market only, he said.
The city government pins big hopes on the upcoming event, which is now part of the city’s trade promotion program, he said.
