Higher Steel Price in May
According to Vietnam Steel Association, local enterprises produced and sold 280,000 tonnes of steel in April. Though the supply has met the demand, the higher price of imported steel ingots has sale price increased VND100-300 per kg. The price of rolled steel now stands at VND8.1-8.3 million a tonne and steel rods at VND8.1-8.2 million a tonne.
According to the forecast of the Market Management Board, the price of imported steel ingots in May will increase US$5-10 a tonne, causing a price hike in construction steel.
