Vietnam - US Trade Centre to Take Shape in Vietnam

Mr. Joseph Nguyen JR, president and CEO of the Vietnam-US Trade Centre in the United States, has affirmed that there will be a Vietnam-US Trade centre in Vietnam. After eight years of conducting investment environment surveys in Vietnam, Mr. Joseph Nguyen decided to settle down in Vietnam and join hands with his partners to invest in Vietnam. He said, previously, he mainly focused on trade promotion acting as a bridge to help US enterprises to have more accesses to projects in Vietnam and help local enterprises to seek business opportunities in the United States. Presently, he is joining efforts with his partners to set up the Vietnam-US Trade centre in Vietnam to facilitate businesses, negotiations and product marketing between the two countries.

Mr. Joseph Nguyen stressed that Vietnam needs to prepare necessary conditions to integrate into the global economy and receive investment flows from the US. A lot of foreign businesspeople also agreed with the establishment of trade centres in the US and Vietnam. Currently, Mr. Joseph Nguyen together with several businesspersons has set up a 5-ha trade centre in the US to assist Vietnamese-originated entrepreneurs and others. Such a centre helps local enterprises to send goods to the US and vice versa. Through this centre, many US counterparts will seek business opportunities in Vietnam.

These days, Mr. Joseph Nguyen is conducting the construction of the Tao Do (Red Apple) Restaurant on De Tham Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, which will become operational in early July 2005. The US-styled and roomy fast-food restaurant serves high quality Hong Kong dishes, baked foods and Kansas City BBQ.

According to Mr. Joseph Nguyen and his partners, massive investment flows from the United States to Vietnam will come soon. In the initial step, the Restaurant will be the meeting and exchanging place for US businesspeople. Here, they can find US style food and seek useful business information.
