Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam Saud FM Al Suwelim said that Saudi businesses were very interested in Vietnam’s market during a recent meeting with Mr. Pham Tan Cong, President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)

According to Ambassador Saud FM Al Suwelim, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam have a good traditional cooperative relationship. Saudi Arabia has supported Vietnam in recent years, such as donating US$500,000 of medical equipment and supplies to fight COVID-19, and US$150,000 of flood support for the central provinces.

In addition, Saudi Arabia has a support fund to provide loans for projects in Vietnam. Specifically, this fund supported the project of building inter-regional transport infrastructure in Yen Bai province in 2020.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic still causes many difficulties, the Saudi Ambassador affirmed that there was much room for cooperation between the business communities of the two sides.

The Saudi Ambassador said: "It is very necessary to strengthen the exchange of information and experience between the two countries, especially those related to specific procedures, regulations and standards on exports and imports to facilitate the movement of goods between the two countries”.

The Ambassador also wished that VCCI would continue to strengthen cooperation with the Embassy to organize many networking programs and seminars.

VCCI President Pham Tan Cong assessed that in the coming time, the cooperation between Vietnamese and Saudi businesses would be further developed. Therefore, in the immediate future, the two sides can connect business online, or through focal points at the Embassy and VCCI.

“VCCI is committed to strongly supporting businesses from Saudi Arabia in particular and from the Middle East region in general to Vietnam to invest and find partners,” VCCI President emphasized.
