Export Assistance Credit Declines

The Ministry of Trade says the Government is about to announce a draft decree on export assistance credit. According to the draft, 10 categories of goods and services will be encouraged to go abroad in 2006-2010.

Quantities of goods receiving export assistance credit will, however, reduce progressively in three periods of time. By December 31, 2007, farm produce and processed foodstuff (including vegetables, fruits, and seafood), consumer industrial products, including textiles (various fibers and cloths), garments, footwear, two-wheeled bicycles, and bicycle spare parts will be removed from the List of Export-Encouraged Goods and Services.

After December 31, 2008, handicrafts, electronic ware, computers, electric wires, and electric cables will not be supported with export credit.

By December 31, 2010, the remaining items will stop receiving export assistance. These will include export seagoing boats, software and information technology services, construction contractor services, consultation-design-supervision services, and mechanical products.
