The Businesswoman Who Raises Value of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest

With a passion for scientific research, Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Van and her colleagues have done a lot of research to improve the quality of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest products.

Scientific research for brand development

Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Van is the Deputy General Director of State-owned Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest One-member Company Limited, and the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company (Sanvinest Khanh Hoa). After graduating from university in Ho Chi Minh City, she decided to go back to her hometown in Khanh Hoa to set herself up in business.

In 2007, Ms. Hong Van worked as a salesperson at Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company. Then, she was assigned to the Science and Technology Department where she advanced her skills and knowledge about the Salanganes Nest industry. Thereby, Ms. Hong Van was promoted to management positions such as Manager of the Processing Facility and Deputy Director of Salanganes Nest Material Processing Factory. Then, she moved to higher management positions such as Deputy General Director of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company.

As Chairperson of the Board of Directors of a company with nearly 1,200 employees, Ms. Hong Van has come up with many ideas for scientific research to create healthy product lines to serve local customers and conquer international markets. In 2017, Ms. Hong Van and her colleagues successfully defended the provincial-level research topic “Research on the production process of concentrated extracts rich in antioxidants from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest”. The research topic provided new scientific data on the antioxidant capacity of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest concentrated extract, improving the value of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest.

In 2018, Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Van and her colleagues researched the topic “Building a process to produce cosmetic products from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest extract”. The research topic aimed to create cosmetic product lines from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest extract, serving domestic needs and export.

In 2021, Ms. Hong Van led the research topic “Building a process to produce health care products from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest extract”, which is expected to be completed this year. According to Ms. Hong Van, this research topic, when applied in practice, will bring to the market strategic product lines with high nutritional value and valuable biological activities for customers.

Efforts to bring Salanganes Nest products to international markets

According to Ms. Hong Van, in addition to product quality, markets play a key role in the consumer decision-making process.

In 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the company implemented proactive strategies in accordance with consumer trends, especially promoting products on e-commerce platforms and social networks to attract customer attention. Despite being affected by the pandemic, with the mindset of “turning challenges into opportunities”, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company has been able to maintain exports to markets such as Japan, U.S., Canada, Australia, Taiwan (China), Malaysia and the Philippines, in which the U.S and Australia are key markets.

About the opportunity to export to China, Ms. Hong Van said that this is a potential market for Vietnam’s Salanganes Nest industry to ensure sustainable product growth, generating high economic benefits for the whole country.

In addition to business, Ms. Hong Van and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company are interested in charitable programs to share their responsibilities with society. Up to now, Ms. Hong Van and the company have provided dozens of houses for poor people.

With efforts and achievements, Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Van was honored to be awarded the Third-class Labor Order by the President of Vietnam. She was also awarded the title “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur” in 2022.

In addition, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company received the First-class Labor Order and National Quality Gold Award in 2019 and 2020. The company was also honored with many other noble titles, including a certificate of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for its achievements and contributions to the locality for many years.
