Closer Partnership for Development

The press and the business have an increasingly effective two-way reciprocal relationship. The press plays an important role in disseminating information about government policies and guidelines to businesses. This helps businesses stay informed about changes in regulations that may affect their operations. The press also helps businesses communicate their messages to the public by providing them with a platform to share their stories.

With its bridging role, the press effectively propagates and disseminates Party and State guidelines and policies to the business community. With the press, businesses promptly grasp Party and State guidelines and policies on business. In particular, during the recent pandemic outbreak, thanks to quick and timely information from the press, companies were able to embrace governmental policies to quickly stabilize and gradually recover their business activities and expand international business cooperation.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Son La Business Association, highly appreciated the companionship of the press with the business community, saying that news agencies provide fast, accurate, timely and very complete information about State support policies for enterprises. Many innovative and creative business models, especially during and after the prolonged pandemic period, and many good ways of turning risks into opportunities applied by companies, were promptly spread by press agencies for other companies to learn, apply and grow.

“Questions raised and difficulties faced by enterprises are synthesized and forwarded to relevant bodies by press agencies for early settlement. They also offer many good solutions and proactively make enterprises feel assured about their business. For example, after the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry was fraught with numerous difficulties, especially human resources. Fortunately, through news agencies, we adopted best practices in other localities to have the best and most timely solutions for us. Currently, Son La's tourist attractions such as Moc Chau, Quynh Nhai and Muong La have basically solved difficulties in human resources," he said.

The press is an effective bridge not only for the business community itself but also for the business community with authorities.

Economic expert Do Thanh Nam said that the press is a place to reflect the thoughts and aspirations of companies toward the decisions of State leaders. Through the press, they can raise their voices to draft laws and fight against bad deeds to create a better business environment. The press also joins with the business community to oversee the enforcement of Government policies, especially in administrative procedure reforms.

As the mouthpiece of the Vietnamese business community, the Business Forum Magazine always promptly informs employers and employees of State policies and guidelines. Companies have workable creative solutions to deal with their difficulties and obstacles, especially those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The magazine also reflects their thoughts and aspirations to authorities at all levels so as to make the business and investment environment better and accompany them to live through the tough time to grow together.

In addition, the press is also a companion to the development of enterprises. The latter needs the former to introduce and promote its images, product brands and performances. On the contrary, the latter is also an inspiration and a source of topics for the former.

The press stands for competent authorities to detect cases where companies have signs of breaking the law, including unhealthy business activities and environmental destruction. For that reason, press-business cooperation is not always smooth and stable because many businesses are afraid of being criticized for their shortcomings and weaknesses, especially illegal acts. Meanwhile, due to professional requirements and characteristics, the press does not always provide only positive, one-way information. This leads the press and business, although they are going together, still being not really open to each other.

In order to enhance the high effect of mass communication in the digital transformation era 4.0 and better support the development of companies, the press needs to plan strategies and make intensive and extensive development investments on multiple platforms to meet the increasing requirements of companies as well as readers.
