LADODA, set up in 1992 in Kieu Ky Village - a well-known leather craft sewing village, has attested its leading leather trademark in Vietnam with typical products of briefcases, handbags, rucksacks, shoes, sandals, belts and wallets. To date, LADODA has become familiar not only with Vietnamese customers but also with customers in Japan, France, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic and others.

In the 1990s when many Vietnamese leather companies had to close their business, LADODA also encountered numerous difficulties in a battle for survival, especially shortages of capital, production infrastructure and human resources. However, with determination to manufacture attractive products, Mr Dinh Quang Bao, director of LADODA and vice chairman of the Hanoi Leather and Shoe Association, gradually helped LADODA grow by simultaneously manufacturing quality products and upgrading its factories, concurrently recruiting local experienced leather labourers and opening free training courses for those interested in leather industry with an aim of attracting more workers for the company’s expansion. Consequently, all stages from material checking, cutting, production and finished products are carried out strictly in order to turn out artistic and durable products. To keep stringent production processes, the company usually renews technologies and uses equipment and production lines imported from Japan, Italy, Hungary and South Korea. In addition, LADODA also set up a technical department with 20 staff who are responsible for researching, designing and manufacturing new models for mass production to serve the demand of customers. Therefore, from just 3-4 kinds of products in its initial days, the company now has over 300 kinds of products, including briefcases for civil servants, school bags for students, fashion bags, bags for special purposes, shoes, sandals and belts.

With a rich production tradition and a pre-eminent product quality, LADODA products have won 15 gold medals at trade fairs in Vietnam and other countries. LADODA products have also been voted the “Vietnamese High Quality Goods” and “Prestigious Trademark” from 2002 until now. In 2002, products of LADODA Co. were awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certificate. In particular LADODA was honourably commissioned to produce high quality products to serve the 8th and 9th Party Congresses and the 9th, 10th and 11th National Assembly meetings, international conferences and seminars like ASEM V and AIPO. Last but not least, with high business achievements and active involvements in social activities, LADODA received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Prime Minister and the State granted the third-class Labour Medal in 2004.

At present, LADODA is injecting investments in enlarging production to meet the domestic demand and expanding export markets. LADODA Director Dinh Quang Bao said, “We have finished the construction on a 2.6-ha factory for production expansion. LADODA pledges to turn out products of the highest quality and the most competitive to meet all the needs of domestic and overseas customers.” As asked about the company’s development orientations in the coming time, especially towards the German market, Mr Dinh Quang Bao said: LADODA has negotiated with German partners to set up several cooperation modes and buy a technological production line to manufacture high-grade briefcases, fashion bags and suitcases to meet the soaring demand for high quality leather products.
