Drinking SAKE in Vietnam
SAKE is a unique traditional Japanese wine. SAKE embodies goodness and peace.
Like other Asian paddy rice-growing nations, Japan makes SAKE from a special type of pure rice. SAKE is particular to Japan and has become synonymous with Japan. As for the Japanese, SAKE is indispensable in their daily lives. It was the Japanese who brought the reputation and taste of SAKE to the world.
In the past, SAKE was a favourite drink in Vietnam but it was one of luxury drinks that only well-to-do people could enjoy. Furthermore, it was not easy to buy a bottle of SAKE because SAKE was imported into Vietnam in limited volumes. At that time, SAKE was available only in luxury restaurants or hotels.
The appearance of SAKE in Vietnam goes together with the Vietnam-Japan bilateral cooperation relations. The landmark relation between the two countries was marked by the building of the first factory to make SAKE under Japanese philosophy and styles by HUE FOOD in Vietnam. The manufacture of SAKE in Vietnam satisfied the desire for enjoying a cup of SAKE by most Vietnamese people. According to Ms Nguyen Thi Xuan Loan, director of Phong Phu Co., the southern official distributor of HUE FOOD, said: At present, SAKE wine products manufactured by HUE FOOD are being sold throughout Vietnam.
“The quality, taste and packaging of Made-in-Vietnam SAKE are as good as traditional Japanese SAKE. In addition, prices of HUE FOOD’s SAKE are acceptable to Vietnamese people. Made-in-Vietnam SAKE comes in bottles of various size, providing more choice for consumers,” Ms Loan affirmed. Thanks to HUE FOOD, Vietnamese people can now enjoy unique traditional Japanese wine.
