The HCM City-based Than Tinh Forwarding Joint Stock Company (EROS EXPRESS & TRADING CORP) is known as an international freight forwarder who provide full and professional services for all shipment exports from Vietnam to worldwide destinations and vice versa. The company is developing towards a trade and service industry. Vietnam Business Forum magazine has conducted an interview with the company director Nguyen Phuc Cuong regarding its achievements and development orientations.

Could you please tell us about some of the company’s features?
EROS EXPRESS is an international freight forwarding agent which was established in 2004 and has its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. Our company has set up a representative office in California and a wide network of agents in many countries, providing high-quality international shipping services. We are valued for our company’s prestige with such services as air and sea forwarding services and multi-transportation modes, which are suited to shipping commodities for exhibition thanks to low cost and punctual delivery.

On the other hand, we offer domestic transport services via cars and trains, door-to-door forwarding services, customs brokerage services, and FOB price information supplying services as well.

As we know, the international freight forwarding market is becoming more and more competitive and diversified. What strong points do Eros Express possess?
In the process of global economic integration, successful operations of many foreign freight forwarders have triggered stiff competition in the domestic market, posing a great threat to Vietnamese shipping service providers, especially small and medium-sized ones. In fact, we have carried out our own development strategy to compete with large-sized freight forwarding companies. Over the years, we have gained the satisfaction of customers by providing a range of various services and favorable prices and having well-trained and experienced staff. In addition, we have also paid due attention to supplying timely information on commodity shipping schedules.

After a working visit to the US in September, your company has signed several cooperation deals with US partners. Could you please reveal some information about your own future plans and the development orientation of the company in the coming time?
In September, we conducted a market survey in the US, where we had the opportunity to meet a lot of Californian senior officials and seek their assistance for Vietnamese handicrafts and fine arts. After thorough discussions, we signed contracts with N.C.W, L.L.L, Global Trade, Ori Art & Supplies, V Heritage Plaza, to export handicrafts and fine arts to the US via such distribution network as Wal-Mart and Costco. To this end, we have established a representative office and showroom at Little Saigon Plaza and plan to open another store at V.Heritage Plaza in the US.

What about your plans in Vietnam?
We will open conferences on seeking ways to bring Vietnamese handicrafts and fine arts to the US at a sustainable rate. It is a new trade promotion activity that has cost us a lot of time and investment while benefiting many enterprises. With our shipping experience and professional foreign trade proficiency, we can completely put our trust into the success of our services.

In the US, we will broadcast short video clips to advertise the Vietnamese handicrafts and fine arts. Through such programs, we have signed deals to export Bat Trang hand-made pottery products to the US under the consultancy of Ms. Kathe Sickles, Mr. Gary Chatman, and Mr. William Lee. Mr. William Lee was the person that helped Beer Saigon enter into the US market after overcoming several food hygiene and safety requirements raised by the US’ Food and Drug Administration and was also the first to introduce Apple Computers to Vietnam. He funded the Ministry of Education and Training to build a laboratory, namely the Apple Academy, in Hanoi.
